Lights and flowers create a relaxing, romantic ambiance to your outdoor venue.

To create beautiful

decor with lights and flowers all you need is a string of bulbs and a bunch of silk flowers. The clear bulbs work great because one can use them with any other color decor.

Here’s how I did it. I took the string of clear bulbs and wound them around a vine of flowers, in this case it was yellow and red roses. Then I attached the strand to the bottom of a post and wound it up. If you start at the bottom then the plug ends up across the top keeping it out of harms way. Here’s another great tip: The dollar stores carry an assortment of vines and flowers. Here’s what I did. The vine didn’t have quite the right blooms on it. So I also purchased several other bunches and when I got them home I pulled the flowers apart and attached them to the vine. Usually the bloom heads pull off quite easily. If you pull some of the vine foliage off, you can replace them with the flower heads.

These strings of illuminated flowers can also be used as outdoor lighting for a romantic evening reception.

Another way to incorporate lighting into wedding décor is to wrap a string of bulbs with tulle.

I decorated a small reception area by laying a string of them along the bottom of the head table and covered them loosely with tulle.

It gave the room a nice ambience with a glowing effect through the material.

This type of décor is actually quite common these days.

Tulle is very versatile and a roll actually goes a long way. Use it for ribbons, bows boughs and incorporate flowers.
